A series of workshops has been inaugurated with the first being held in March, 2002 at the San Diego Supercomputer Center at the University of California at San Diego.
Attendees were warmly welcomed to Seoul, Korea for the 2nd PRAGMA Workshop, held at the Westin Chosun Hotel on July 10-11, 2002, and hosted by the Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information (KISTI).
Subsequent meetings were held in January 2003 (PRAGMA 3 - Japan) and June 2003 (PRAGMA 4 - Australia), and PRAGMA 5 was held in October 2003 (Taiwan).
The PRAGMA 6 Workshop was held in Beijing, China from May 17-19, 2004, and the PRAGMA 7 gathering united new and old friends together from September 15-17, 2004 — again at the San Diego Supercomputer Center at the University of California at San Diego.
The PRAGMA 8 Workshop was held in Singapore in May 2005 and was hosted by Bioinformatics Institute and National Grid Office (Singapore. In October 2005 the PRAGMA 9 Workshop was hosted by Professor Arun Agarwal and his wonderful staff at the University of Hyderabad in Hyderabad, India.
PRAGMA 10 was held in Townsville, Queensland, Australia in March 2006! PRAGMA 11 attendess gathered in Osaka, Japan October 15-18, 2006, while PRAGMA 12 will be held March 20-22, 2007 in Bangkok, Thailand. PRAGMA 13 and the 1st PRAGMA Institute was hosted by our fabulous friends at NCSA in Urbana-Champaign, IL (USA), September 23-28, 2007.
In Spring 2008 PRAGMA 14 was hosted by the National Center for High-performance Computing in Taichung, Taiwan, with the reception and tutorial held on 10 March and workshop dates on March 11-12. The CREON Workshop following in Kenting, Taiwan 13-14 March 2008.
Please save 22-24 October 2008 for the PRAGMA 15 Workshop. It will be hosted by the Universiti Sains Malaysia in Penang, Malaysia.
PRAGMA 16 will be hosted by KISTI in Daejon, Korea, with tenative workshop dates scheduled for March 2009.
The 2nd PRAGMA Institute was held in conjunction with the Southeast Asia International Joint Research and Training Program, and was hosted by NCHC on 3-7 December 2007.
