Air Travel

Tokyo has two major international airports: Narita International Airport (NRT) and Haneda Airport (HND). Whether you arrive at either Tokyo airport will depend on which airline you use. Both airports have convenient access to central Tokyo.

Ground Transportation

From Narita Airport

Narita Airport is located about 60 kilometers east from central Tokyo and most of the international flight land at this airport. There are many options to reach central Tokyo from the airport including JR Narita Express, Keisei Skyliner, Keisei Access Express and Airport Limousine Bus. Taxi service is available, however it is not recommended to use because of the great distance from the airport to the city (taxi fares for trips to central Tokyo range from 14,000 to 20,000 yen).

Public Transportation Options from Narita Airport
JR Narita Express: JR East’s Narita Express(NEX) has direct access from Narita Airport to Tokyo Station and other major urban stations.

Keisei Line: Keisei Line offers several options connecting Narita Airport to central Tokyo include, Skyliner, Keisei Main Line, and Access Express. Skyliner and Keisei Main Line connect to Ueno and Access Express connect to Oshiage, Nihombashi and Higashi-Ginza.

Airport Limousine Bus: Airport Limousine bus can take you directly to major hotels in central Tokyo.

From Haneda Airport

Haneda Airport is located closer to central Tokyo than Narita Airport. The distance between the airport and central Tokyo is about 20 kilometers. There are several transportation options from the airport such as keikyu Line, Tokyo Monorail and Airport Limousine Bus.

Public Transportation Options from Haneda Airport
Keikyu Line: Keikyu Line directly connect Haneda Airport to central Tokyo destination such as Shinagawa, Higashi-Ginza and Asakusa for just under 700 yen.

Tokyo Monorail: Tokyo Monorail connects Haneda Airport to Hamamatsucho station in 15 to 20 minutes. Transfer to JR Yamanote Line and Oedo Subway Line at Hamamatsucho station provide quick access to central Tokyo.

Airport Limousine Bus: Haneda Airport Limousine Bus will also take you directly to major hotels in central Tokyo.
