			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The East Asia and Pacific Summer Institutes (EAPSI) provide U.S. graduate students in science and engineering:  1) first-hand research experiences in Australia, China, Japan, Korea, New Zealand, Singapore or Taiwan; 2) an introduction to the science, science policy, and scientific infrastructure of the respective location; and 3) an orientation to the society, culture and language. The primary goals of EAPSI are to introduce students to East Asia and Pacific science and engineering in the context of a research setting, and to help students initiate scientific relationships that will better enable future collaboration with foreign counterparts. All institutes, except Japan, last approximately eight weeks from June to August. Japan lasts approximately ten weeks from June to August (specific dates are available and updated at <a href="http://www.nsf.gov/eapsi">www.nsf.gov/eapsi</a>).</p>

<p>THE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON DISTRIBUTED FRAMEWORKS &#038; APPLICATIONS 2008 (DFmA 2008)<br />

Jointly Organized for the First Time in Conjunction with 15th PRAGMA Workshop &#038; PRAGMA Institute </p>
<p>DFmA 2008 welcomes computer scientists, engineers, academicians, and practitioners throughout the world to present, discuss and exchange ideas and research results related to the design, use, analysis, and application of Distributed and Parallel Frameworks. </p>
<p>Topics of Special Interest: </p>
<p>Papers submitted may cover applications, algorithm, architecture, or technology of Distributed and Parallel System Frameworks. Relevant topics include (but are not limited to) the following: </p>
<p> - Peer-to-Peer  Computing<br />
 - Grid Applications<br />
 - Distributed Artificial Intelligence<br />
 - Distributed Software Engineering<br />
 - Distributed Multimedia and Image Processing<br />
-  Distributed Systems Modeling<br />
 - Distributed Databases, Data Mining &#038; Visualization<br />
 - Distributed Algorithms and Protocols<br />
 - Distributed Sensor Networks<br />
 - Distributed IHM for Multimedia Applications<br />
 - High-speed Communications<br />
 - Compilers and Optimizations for Parallel Processing<br />
 - Parallel and Network Computing and Algorithms<br />
 - Parallel Architecture and Processing Systems<br />
 - Network Routing and Communication Algorithms (wired, wireless, ad-hoc, etc.)<br />
 - Network Security Applications<br />
 - Wireless Networks and Mobile Computing </p>
<p>Each accepted paper will be considered as a candidate for the best paper awards. The best papers will be forwarded for consideration in a special issue of a journal. </p>
<p>Important Dates: </p>
<p>- Deadline for Submission of Papers:  May 30th 2008<br />
- Notification of Acceptance:   July 31st 2008<br />
- Final Manuscript Due:   September 1st 2008<br />
- Early Registration for Authors:  September 1st 2008 </p>
<p>Conference Venue:  Universiti Sains Malaysia,  Penang, Malaysia </p>
<p>Submission Guidelines: </p>
<p>Please submit your complete paper(s) through our website at http://dfma08.cs.usm.my. Only .PDF or .DOC files will be accepted. All received papers will be acknowledged. The paper size should be so as not to exceed 8 A4- sized pages when it is converted to the camera-ready format (two columns, single spacing, Times New Roman style characters, 10-point font size) after acceptance.  </p>
<p>All the manuscripts must be written in English. The top section of the first page of each paper should include the title of the paper, authors&#8217; name, position, address, telephone and fax numbers, e-mail of the author responsible for correspondence and a list of four keywords. The deadline for submission of the full paper is May 30th, 2008 with notification of acceptance by July 31st, 2008. Submission of camera-ready paper is by September 1st, 2008.  </p>

<p>The conference&#8217;s fee will include exclusively: </p>

<p>Any other expenses must be afforded by the participants. </p>
<p>Co-location:</p>
